Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Librarian to join our team in El-Fujairah. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our library resources and providing assistance to patrons when needed. This is a full-time position with a salary of 1600 AED per month. We are open to considering foreign applicants.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage the library's collection by acquiring new materials and removing outdated materials as necessary
• Develop library policies and procedures that ensure efficient library operation
• Assist patrons in locating books, materials, or information using online databases, catalogues, reference books, or other available resources
• Provide one-on-one assistance to patrons with research projects or questions related to library materials
• Compile bibliographies of specialized materials for use by students, faculty, or other researchers
• Prepare reports on collection usage and performance for management review
• Plan activities such as book displays or author talks that promote the use of the library’s resources
• Maintain accurate records related to circulation, acquisitions, inventory control and budgeting issues
• Keep up-to-date with the latest technological developments in libraries and apply them where appropriate
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field is required
• Previous experience working as a librarian is preferred but not mandatory
• Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal - are essential
• Demonstrated knowledge of library principles, practices and procedures required
Requirements:
• Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
• Familiarity with various software programs such as MS Office Suite
• Outstanding organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines
