Duties and Responsibilities
• Drive trucks to transport goods from one location to another in a timely manner
• Follow the assigned route while maintaining a safe speed
• Ensure that all cargo is loaded correctly before commencing the journey
• Monitor the condition of the truck while on the road, paying attention to any unusual sounds or smells
• Check cargo at both ends of the journey for damage or loss
• Collaborate with colleagues in order to ensure efficient loading/unloading of cargo
• Maintain accurate records of fuel usage, mileage, rest stops and other relevant data

Qualifications and Skills
• A valid driver’s license with at least 5 years experience driving large trucks
• Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles
• Knowledge of federal regulations governing transportation safety standards
• Excellent navigation skills • Strong problem-solving abilities • Good communication skills • Ability to lift heavy objects
