Job Description:
The Dentist is responsible for all aspects of patient care including but not limited to: diagnosing dental conditions, prescribing treatments, performing procedures (restorative/endodontic/periodontal/prosthetic), performing surgical procedures as needed, educating patients on oral health issues, providing preventive advice to encourage better oral hygiene practices, taking x-rays and interpreting them accurately, maintaining accurate patient records and providing excellent customer service to all patients. The Dentist must also be able to work well with other team members such as dental hygienists, assistants, office staffs etc., in order to ensure that the practice runs smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide high quality dental care to patients by examining teeth and gums; diagnosing diseases or abnormalities; developing treatment plans; performing surgical procedures; filling cavities; cleaning teeth; providing preventative education; taking digital x-rays; maintaining accurate patient records; communicating effectively with staff members and other healthcare providers; managing time efficiently while meeting production goals.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current dental technology by attending continuing education classes or seminars as required by the state board of dentistry.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in the field by reading professional journals or attending professional conferences.
• Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to protocols established by OSHA or other applicable organizations.
