We are looking for a motivated and experienced Librarian to join our team in Ajman. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing library services and resources to the general public, including research assistance, book selection, and cataloguing.
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications and experience:
- At least a bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field;
- Minimum of two years of work experience in a library setting;
- Excellent organizational and communication skills;
- Knowledgeable in using library automation software;
- Ability to use computers for web searches, database management, and Microsoft Office applications;
- Knowledge of a variety of library resources (print, electronic, audio/visual).
The main responsibilities of this position include:
- Organizing and cataloguing books, periodicals, documents or other library materials;
- Monitoring shelves to ensure that materials are properly arranged according to established standards;
- Assisting patrons with their research needs by providing basic reference services such as locating books or articles;
- Answering inquiries from patrons concerning the use of library materials or services;
- Developing book displays to promote the use of library materials;
- Participating in the development of library policies and procedures.
