Job Summary
The Welder position provides the opportunity to join an experienced team of welders in a challenging yet rewarding environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for using welding techniques, equipment and processes to join metal parts together in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Read blueprints or drawings that detail dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces
• Set up welding machines according to specifications (e.g. select proper voltage and current)
• Interpret welding symbols on blueprints or sketches to determine weld locations, types of welds, sizes of gaps between components or other specifications
• Select appropriate filler rods or electrodes based on metals being joined
• Monitor the welding process to avoid overheating elements or warping material
• Inspect welded surfaces for defects such as cracks or excessive porosity
• Provide quality assurance according to the project’s specifications
• Maintain cleanliness in the work area at all times

Qualifications
• 3 years of experience as a welder is required
• Ability to read blueprints/drawings is essential • Knowledge of welding techniques, equipment and processes is necessary • Good physical condition with manual dexterity required for operating welding equipment • High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills • Great communication skills with ability to work both independently and as part of a team
