We are looking for a highly organized, motivated and experienced Librarian to join our team in Al Shamkhah City. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the library's collection of books and other materials, as well as providing research assistance to patrons. The ideal candidate should have excellent organizational skills and be able to work with a diverse range of patrons.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum two years experience working in a library
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Fluency in both Arabic and English
- Ability to use information technology tools
- Knowledge of copyright laws and database services
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
Responsibilities:
The Librarian is responsible for maintaining the library’s collection of books, periodicals, audio/video materials, electronic resources and other items. This includes keeping accurate records of materials added and removed from the collection, ensuring that all materials are properly labelled and arranged on the shelves. Additionally, the Librarian will provide research assistance to patrons by recommending appropriate resources, helping them locate information or materials in the library collection. The successful applicant may also be required to assist with other administrative duties such as ordering new stock, cataloguing new collections or providing training to staff on information technology tools. A competitive salary of 1200 is offered for this position.
