The Library in Sharjah is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Librarian to join our team. The successful candidate must have a strong background in library science, as well as excellent customer service and communication skills. We are looking for someone with a passion for literature, research and information retrieval, who is able to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

The duties of the Librarian will include organizing library materials, such as books, periodicals, and audio-visual materials; researching topics related to library resources; preparing library materials for use; assisting patrons in locating information; cataloging materials; maintaining circulation records; supervising student assistants; handling interlibrary loan requests; developing library policies and procedures; providing reference services to patrons; training staff on the use of library equipment and technology tools; developing online databases; providing instruction in the use of online search tools.

The successful candidate should possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal, as well as strong organizational skills. They should be able to work independently with minimal supervision. A degree or diploma in Library Science or a related field is required. Knowledge of Arabic would be beneficial but not necessary.
