Librarian, Abu-Dhabi – 1800 AED

We are looking for an experienced Librarian to join our team in Abu-Dhabi. We are open to considering an immigrant for this role.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or related field
• At least 1 year of experience working as a librarian or in a related field
• Knowledge of library systems and databases
• Familiarity with cataloging and classification systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams

Job Description & Responsibilities:
• Acquire, organize, maintain, and circulate library materials such as books, periodicals, audio/visual materials, e-books and other electronic media.
• Establish procedures for the selection, acquisition, cataloguing, circulation and maintenance of library materials.
• Develop methods for providing reference services such as reader's advisory services.
• Manage the budget for library materials acquisition and subscriptions to periodicals and databases.
• Develop programs such as book clubs or reading groups to promote interest in library resources.
• Create displays of library materials to promote use of the library collection.
• Monitor user activity within the library space; provide assistance as needed with operating computers or other equipment.
