Librarian job in Al Shamkhah City UAE for Indian
We are looking for a highly motivated and organized Librarian to join our team in Al Shamkhah City.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the library’s catalog system, as well as organizing and maintaining library resources. The ideal candidate must have an excellent knowledge of library operations, a passion for learning and research, and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities:
- Cataloging books, magazines, and other media according to Library of Congress standards.
- Conducting orientation sessions for new library members and patrons.
- Training staff members on how to use the library's computer systems for cataloging.
- Developing collection policies in order to maintain up-to-date materials in the collection.
- Assisting patrons with research inquiries and locating information sources.
- Maintaining accurate records of library resources, circulation data, acquisitions, donations, and other relevant information.
- Performing administrative tasks related to the maintenance of the library's collection.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience working in a library or related institution is preferred but not required.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills with an understanding of databases and cataloging programs such as Horizon or Follett Destiny.
