Job Opportunity: Librarian

We are a prestigious library in Abu-Dhabi, looking for an experienced and motivated Librarian to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing library services to all patrons, actively managing the library's collections and resources, and ensuring the library is safe and secure.

The ideal candidate should have knowledge of library systems and procedures; possess excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, multitasking and leadership skills; be customer service-oriented; and have an eye for detail. Knowledge of Arabic is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities:
• Manage the daily operations of the library
• Maintain accurate records of books, periodicals, journals and other materials in the collection
• Ensure that books are properly shelved and catalogued
• Assist patrons with locating materials in the collection or online databases
• Provide reference services to patrons using computer terminals or other sources of information
• Develop new methods for improving library services
• Prepare reports on circulation activities as needed
• Ensure safety and security of the library premises

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
• Minimum 3 years' experience working in a Library setting or related field
• Knowledge of library systems and procedures; ability to use common computer applications
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

Salary: 1700 AED/month (negotiable). We are ready to consider a foreigner for this position.
