Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation/Electronics Engineering or related field; certification from an accredited institution is preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an instrument technician or similar role.
• Knowledge of instrumentation installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair principles.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams, blueprints, schematics, technical drawings and wiring diagrams; familiarity with PLCs is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills; able to identify potential issues quickly before they become major problems.
• Excellent communication skills; able to work well with others in a team environment as well as independently when needed.
• Willingness to travel to remote sites for extended periods of time when needed.
Duties
• Install new instruments or repair existing ones according to manufacturer's specifications.
• Perform regular calibration on all instruments in the facility; document results and report any anomalies to the supervisor immediately.
• Troubleshoot any issues with the instruments using appropriate testing methods; make repairs as necessary or recommend replacement parts if needed.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work conducted on the equipment; ensure that all safety protocols are followed at all times while working onsite.
• Assist other technicians with troubleshooting complex issues with the instrumentation systems; provide technical support when needed for installation or repair projects.
• Monitor process parameters such as flow rates, pressure levels, temperature readings etc., using both manual and automated methods; take corrective action when needed to ensure optimal performance of the system(s).
