The primary responsibility of the Pharmacist is to dispense medications as per physician prescriptions while ensuring accuracy and safety of patients’ treatments. Other responsibilities include providing information about drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage directions to patients; maintaining patient records; stocking shelves with medications; ensuring availability of prescribed drugs; preparing compounds as needed; ordering medications or supplies from wholesalers or manufacturers; assisting customers in locating products; controlling inventories for expired or damaged drugs; and providing advice on general wellbeing matters.
