As the Cashier, your main responsibility will be handling cash transactions with customers using cash registers. You will also scan goods and collect payments, issue receipts or refunds as necessary, count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct, and answer customer questions about their transactions or store policies. Other duties may include stocking shelves or cleaning checkout areas as needed.

To qualify for this role, you should have some work experience as a cashier in retail stores or similar environments. You should also have basic math skills and understanding of customer service principles as well as knowledge of inventory control systems and procedures. A friendly attitude along with strong communication abilities is essential for the role. If you have experience using POS systems that would be an added advantage but not essential for the role.
