JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for an experienced Psychiatrist to join our team in Doha, Qatar. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and other psychiatric problems. You will be required to provide psychotherapy and medication management services to patients suffering from a variety of mental health issues. You will also be responsible for evaluating new patients and maintaining accurate records of all patient interactions, progress notes, treatment plans, medication prescriptions, laboratory results, and other relevant documents. Additionally, you will provide guidance and counseling to family members of those suffering from mental health problems as well as referral services in more complex cases when necessary.

REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate should possess a medical degree with specialty training in psychiatry or equivalent qualifications (i.e., Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology or Clinical Psychology). Candidates should have several years’ experience working in a similar role, preferably within a clinical setting coupled with experience working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. A current license/registration issued by the Ministry of Health is essential; foreigners must have the necessary permits/visas to work in Qatar if they are not already registered locally. The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written is also essential.
