Librarian (Dubai)

We are looking for a Librarian to join our team in Dubai. This position offers a salary of 1500 and we are ready to consider a foreigner for this role.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in library science or related fields.

Responsibilities:

• Organize and manage the library's collection, including books, magazines, newspapers, videos, and digital resources.
• Assist patrons with reference questions and research needs.
• Help patrons find materials by using catalogs and other resources.
• Process new materials into the library catalog system.
• Monitor library usage trends to inform decisions about collection development.
• Provide basic computer instruction to patrons, helping them use the library's online resources.
• Supervise student assistants and volunteers in their duties.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field is preferred but not required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a library setting is required.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of librarianship including cataloguing, classification and preservation techniques as well as copyright law is essential.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy is essential
• Ability to use computers for cataloging databases, searching the web, creating documents, etc is essential
