Position: Sommelier

Location: Dubai, UAE

Salary: 1300 AED monthly

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Sommelier to join our team in Dubai, UAE. The ideal candidate should have an excellent knowledge of wines and spirits and be able to educate and inform our customers. We also welcome foreign applicants.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing customers with expert advice on the selection of wines and other drinks to complement their meals. The Sommelier will be expected to understand different types of wines, their production methods, serving temperatures, and food pairings. They will also be responsible for keeping the wine inventory up to date with the restaurant’s current menu offerings.

Responsibilities include:
• Maintaining a high level of knowledge about wine varieties, styles, production methods, and flavor profiles
• Creating wine lists that are current with restaurant offerings and offer a range of options for different tastes
• Recommending wines that complement menu items according to customer preferences
• Managing inventory of wines according to current menu offerings and availability of stock items
• Assisting in training staff in regards to wine service standards
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws related to the sale and service of alcoholic beverages

Qualifications:
• At least 5 years’ experience working as a sommelier in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting
• Certifications from leading sommelier associations such as Court of Master Sommeliers or Association de la Sommellerie Internationale (ASI) preferred but not required
• Strong customer service skills
