Librarian – Haur-Fakkan, 1200 AED per month

We are looking for a creative and passionate Librarian to join our team in Haur-Fakkan. The ideal candidate should have strong communication and customer service skills as well as the ability to work with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds. We are open to considering immigrant applicants for this position.

The responsibilities of the Librarian include:

• Maintaining and organizing library materials, such as books, periodicals, videos, audio recordings, and other media.
• Assisting patrons with locating materials or using library systems.
• Assisting patrons in using computers and other library equipment.
• Developing library programs, such as book clubs and reading groups.
• Recommending books or other materials that meet patron needs.
• Cataloguing new library materials and updating existing records.
• Training new staff on library policies and procedures.
• Preparing book displays and special collections of materials on topics of interest to patrons.
• Providing reference services to assist patrons in finding information or locating specific materials in the library collection.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills with an ability to work well with all types of people from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to use computers confidently for cataloguing materials and searching databases for reference information.
• Knowledge of library systems, practices, policies, procedures and technology used in libraries today is preferred but not required for applicants with no experience in this field.
