Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Sommelier to join our team in Dubai. We are seeking someone who is passionate about wine and fine dining, knowledgeable about the latest trends in the industry, and able to provide outstanding service to our customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for selecting, curating, and serving wines from our vast selection, as well as providing wine pairing recommendations for our guests. The role will also involve training staff on wine service techniques and providing general support to the restaurant team. This position offers a salary of 1300 AED per month and is open to both local and foreign candidates.

Job Responsibilities:
• Selecting wines from a wide variety of suppliers in accordance with established standards.
• Advising customers on food and wine pairings based on their individual tastes.
• Training restaurant staff on proper wine service techniques, including decanting, handling of stemware, etc.
• Educating customers about different types of wines, grapes, vintages, etc.
• Maintaining inventory levels in accordance with established protocols.
• Working closely with chefs to ensure a positive customer experience through food-wine pairings.
• Learning new products and staying up to date with industry trends through self-study or attending tastings/events/workshops/seminars when possible.

Qualifications & Requirements:
• Previous experience as a sommelier in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting is preferred but not required.
• Proven knowledge of various grape varieties, vintages, styles of wines from all over the world as well as beer and non-alcoholic drinks such as mocktails & juices etc .
• Excellent customer service skills with good knowledge of hospitality etiquette standards .
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment .
• High school diploma or equivalent; certification from a recognized sommelier program is preferred .
