Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Optometrist to join our team in Abu-Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye exams, evaluating patients' eyes and prescribing corrective lenses and eyeglasses. The Optometrist should also be able to detect visual defects and diagnose eye diseases.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Optometry or related field
• Minimal work experience in optometry
• Ability to perform comprehensive eye exams, operate ophthalmic equipment and interpret results
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical information to patients in easy-to-understand language
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of relevant software programs including Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of optometric principles, practices, procedures, technical equipment, and materials used in the care and treatment of vision problems
• Ability to recognize vision anomalies or ocular diseases

Responsibilities:
• Diagnose vision problems and prescribe corrective lenses or eyeglasses as needed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
• Examine eyes for signs of injury, infection or other ailments and refer them to the appropriate specialist when needed
• Provide patient counseling on the use of contact lenses as well as on general eye health topics such as nutrition and hygiene
• Test patients’ color perception, depth perception, peripheral vision, near vision, far vision, astigmatism, etc. using various instruments such as retinoscopes and phoropters
• Develop treatment plans for patients with ocular diseases such as glaucoma or macular degeneration
