Librarian – Abu-Dhabi

We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Librarian to join our team in Abu-Dhabi. This is a great opportunity for someone with no experience, who is eager to learn and take on new challenges.

Requirements:
• A minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and library software
• Competency in cataloging library materials using Dewey Decimal System or Library of Congress classification system
• We are ready to consider an immigrant for this position.

Responsibilities:
• Cataloging books, magazines, newspapers, audio-visual material, electronic resources, etc.
• Classifying materials according to subject area and assigning call numbers
• Creating bibliographic records for library materials
• Maintaining records of library activities such as new acquisitions, circulation activities, etc.
• Assisting patrons with locating information resources using online catalogs and other reference tools
• Collecting overdue materials from patrons and issuing overdue notices as necessary
