We are looking for a Librarian to work at our library in Dubai. The successful candidate will use their knowledge of books, print resources and digital media to organize and maintain our library’s collections. The salary for this position is 1300 AED per month. We are open to considering immigrants for this role.

The ideal candidate should have excellent organizational skills and be able to research, evaluate, and recommend resources for the library’s collection. They should also be comfortable working with digital databases and familiar with current library trends and technologies. They should have excellent communication skills as well as an interest in literature and media. Previous experience in a library is not required but would be beneficial.

The Librarian's primary responsibility will be to organize the library's collection of books, audio-visual materials, magazines, newspapers, periodicals, digital documents, audio recordings, videos, software programs and other materials in accordance with established procedures. They will also assist patrons in locating materials by responding to reference requests both online and in person; provide general information about the library’s services; check out materials; maintain records; process new acquisitions; shelve returned materials; create displays; manage book orders; provide training on the use of computers or other electronic resources; develop reading programs or story hours for children; catalog new items using appropriate software systems; provide interlibrary loan services; assist patrons with research projects; supervise student helpers or volunteers; recommend titles for purchase based on patron feedback or suggestions from colleagues or reviews; attend professional meetings or workshops related to librarianship and/or technology topics.
