Sommelier - Dubai

Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Sommelier to join our team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the wine program, including selecting wines, training staff, creating wine lists and pairing wines with food. They will also be expected to develop relationships with suppliers and educate customers on the wines we offer.

Responsibilities:
• Selecting high quality wines from a variety of suppliers
• Creating wine lists that reflect customer preferences and our restaurant’s style
• Pairing wines with food dishes for optimal flavors
• Training staff on aspects of wine service such as proper pouring techniques, glassware selection and food and wine pairing
• Developing relationships with suppliers to ensure product availability
• Educating customers on different types of wines and their characteristics

Qualifications:
• At least 5 years’ experience as a sommelier in a professional setting
• In-depth knowledge of different types of wines including grape varieties and production methods
• Familiarity with food pairings for different types of wines
• Excellent customer service skills, including strong communication abilities
