The primary role of this position is to provide medical care for patients while adhering to safety guidelines. This includes carrying out physical examinations, taking medical histories, diagnosing illnesses, prescribing medications, providing treatments and counseling patients on preventive health care. Other duties may include ordering laboratory tests, interpreting test results, providing advice regarding diet and exercise, recording patient information in electronic databases, referring patients to specialists and consulting with colleagues regarding challenging cases.
