Librarian (1700 AED/month)

We are looking for a dynamic and highly organized Librarian to join our library team in Sharjah. The successful candidate should have at least 2 years of experience working as a librarian. We are open to considering foreign candidates for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for organizing, maintaining, and cataloging the library’s collections of books, magazines, newspapers, documents, audio-visual materials and other resources;
• Assist patrons with finding appropriate resources;
• Prepare, organize and update catalogs;
• Oversee borrowing processes and manage overdue material;
• Keep track of circulation statistics;
• Monitor inventory levels and order new materials when necessary;
• Develop new programs to encourage readership;
• Provide advice on research strategies for patrons;
• Train and supervise staff members, volunteers or interns;
• Create displays to highlight special collections or events.

Skills: Excellent organizational skills, excellent communication skills both written and verbal, strong problem solving skills. Knowledge of library software systems is an asset.
