Job Duties:
• Operate excavator in a safe manner while adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.
• Prepare the ground for construction projects by digging trenches, leveling surfaces, removing debris, etc.
• Load materials into excavator buckets as directed by supervisor.
• Monitor the condition of the excavator while in operation to ensure it is running efficiently and safely.
• Perform regular maintenance on excavator as needed (e.g., changing oil).
• Follow instructions from supervisors regarding the assigned tasks.
• Maintain communication with supervisor regarding progress of assigned tasks.

Qualifications:
• Proven experience as an excavator operator in a similar role for at least 2 years; immigrants will also be considered.
• Knowledge of safety procedures related to excavation work and use of heavy equipment; must be familiar with local safety regulations.
• Excellent physical condition; able to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects if necessary.
• Ability to read blueprints or diagrams when needed; must have basic math skills for accurately measuring distances/angles/quantities when required.
• Strong attention to detail; must be able to follow directions precisely without taking shortcuts or compromising safety protocols in any way.
