Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Librarian to join our team in Abu-Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing library services to patrons and maintaining library resources. As a librarian, you will be expected to provide exceptional customer service, assist patrons in locating information and materials, and help patrons understand the library's policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for cataloging new materials, monitoring the library's collection, and ensuring that all material is properly shelved. This position offers a competitive salary of 1600 AED per month and we are open to considering applications from foreigners.

Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the Librarian include: Maintaining library resources in proper condition; Assisting patrons with locating information; Cataloging new materials according to established standards; Supervising volunteers or student workers; Training patrons on basic computer usage skills; Responding to patron inquiries either in person or over the phone/email; Enforcing library rules and regulations regarding use of materials.

Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess: Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or equivalent qualifications; Excellent communication skills both verbal and written; Good knowledge of information retrieval principles including online searching techniques, indexing systems, classification systems, etc.; Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel) as well as Internet research tools; Knowledge of local language is preferable but not mandatory.
