Job Description: Librarian, Al Shamkhah City, 1400 Salary

We are looking for an experienced Librarian to join our team in Al Shamkhah City. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing and managing library services, collections, and resources. The position offers a competitive salary of 1400 and we are willing to consider a foreigner for this role.

Responsibilities:
• Manage the daily operations of the library, ensuring all activities are performed in an efficient and timely manner.
• Develop and maintain library catalogs, filing systems, databases, record-keeping systems, and other library records.
• Manage library collections by selecting books or other materials for purchase; determining content; arranging binding; organizing shelves alphabetically or according to Dewey Decimal System; processing new materials; weeding out outdated materials; providing access to digital resources.
• Assist patrons by providing information about library services, locating material or resources, or helping them use technology such as computers or scanners.
• Design programs to promote reading awareness and literacy such as book clubs or story times for children.
• Maintain budget records by preparing acquisition requests; monitoring expenditures; evaluating vendors; reconciling invoices or billing statements.
• Create user-friendly displays that promote library activities and services.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of cataloging techniques according to the Dewey Decimal System
• Excellent customer service skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
