As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be expected to design, develop and install components or systems for machines or vehicles using CAD software. You will also need to create plans for fabrication, assembly and testing of new products; diagnose and repair mechanical problems; suggest ways to improve existing mechanical designs; evaluate materials for specified applications; carry out research into mechanical design changes; produce reports on the progress of projects; provide technical advice when required; investigate customer complaints regarding mechanical performance; inspect parts for defects; inform management about any issues that arise; recommend solutions to eliminate cost overruns or delays in production or delivery of components or systems.

To be successful in this role you must possess excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. You must have experience using CAD software and knowledge of engineering design principles and methods. A degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred but not essential depending on experience. You must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms.
