Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join a leading finance team in Al-Kuwait. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all financial transactions within the company, including preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and overseeing accounts payable/receivable functions. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as strong problem solving capabilities.
Job Responsibilities
• Monitor daily accounting activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly reports on financial performance including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, etc.
• Analyze financial information to identify trends and discrepancies.
• Develop and implement internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable functions including invoice processing, payments, collections, etc.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets based on actual results and forecasts. • Reconcile bank accounts and prepare monthly journal entries. • Manage company assets by tracking fixed assets activity such as depreciation calculations, asset purchases/sales/exchanges/write-offs/valuations. • Maintain vendor relationships by responding promptly to inquiries.
Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; CPA certification preferred but not required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting role; prior experience working in Kuwait is a plus.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently; attention to detail is key. • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel) as well as accounting software programs (e.g., QuickBooks). • Strong problem solving abilities; analytical thinking skills are essential for success in this role. • Excellent written & verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel both inside & outside the organization is necessary for success in this position..
