Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Librarian to join our team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing, maintaining, and developing the library collection. Job Responsibilities

The Librarian will be responsible for providing library services that promote effective learning and research. Responsibilities include cataloging library materials, developing a collection of books/materials relevant to current trends in literature/research, organizing shelves, managing information databases/online resources, preparing reports on library usage/activities, assisting patrons in locating materials or accessing online resources, helping patrons with research needs or questions regarding library policies/procedures. Additionally, the Librarian will also need to stay up-to-date on new technologies related to libraries and librarianship such as digital libraries or e-book readers.

Qualifications and Skills
A Master's degree in Library Science is required for this position as well as several years of experience working in a library setting. Candidates should also have strong organizational skills as well as an eye for detail when handling documents or books. Excellent written & verbal communication skills are essential for this position as well as the ability to remain calm under pressure when dealing with challenging situations or patrons with difficult questions or requests. Additionally, knowledge of foreign languages would be highly advantageous along with proficiency in computer applications related to libraries such as circulation software or OPACs (Online Public Access Catalogs).
