Job Purpose:
The Florist is responsible for creating floral displays, assisting customers in selecting flowers, arranging bouquets and other decorations as well as ensuring the shop remains clean and organized. The Florist should also be knowledgeable about the types of flowers we offer in order to provide advice to customers.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Create beautiful flower arrangements based on customer requests or company designs
• Provide consultation and advice to customers on types of flowers available, their care and maintenance as well as pricing options
• Arrange bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres and other decorations using fresh or artificial flowers • Ensure all flower arrangements are fresh upon delivery or pickup by customers • Maintain cleanliness of the store at all times by vacuuming carpets, dusting shelves & displays etc. • Receive inventory shipments from suppliers; check quality & quantity against invoices; process payments; restock shelves

Qualifications & Skills:
• Previous experience in a florist shop is preferred but not required (willingness to learn necessary) • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide advice & suggestions • Ability to handle multiple tasks at once while paying attention to detail • Working knowledge of different types of flowers & their care requirements • Ability to stand for long periods of time • Good communication skills
