The job description for the role of Librarian entails the following: providing library services, including reference and information services; cataloging library materials; organizing library materials; maintaining circulation records and reading lists; providing instruction in the use of library resources and equipment; maintaining collections of books, periodicals, audiovisual materials, electronic resources, and other materials; keeping abreast of new developments in library services and technology; developing a collection of special holdings related to specific subject areas or topics.
