Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Librarian to join our team in Sharjah. This position is responsible for managing the library and its resources, providing research assistance to students and faculty members, and ensuring that the library is in compliance with best practices. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills and experience working with library systems. The salary for this role is 1100 AED. Immigrants are welcome to apply.

Job Responsibilities:
• Maintain an accurate inventory of books, journals, databases, audio-visual materials, special collections, and other resources.
• Manage circulation of materials including check-ins/check-outs and overdue notices.
• Develop policies and procedures related to library operations.
• Prepare reports on library usage and patron requests as needed.
• Organize reference material to ensure easy access by patrons.
• Assist patrons in locating resources or using technology if needed.
• Provide research assistance to faculty members and students when requested.
• Ensure that all library regulations are enforced for the safety of patrons and staff.
• Support other duties as assigned by the Library Director or other senior staff members.

Essential Skills:
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
• Ability to provide customer service in a professional manner
• In-depth knowledge of best practices related to libraries
• Proficiency in using computers including Microsoft Office suite

Desired Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science or a related field
• Previous experience working in a library setting
• Knowledge of MARC cataloging standards
