Job Duties:
- Examine eyes using observation, visual acuity tests, tonometry tests, refraction tests, color vision tests, depth perception tests, etc.
- Diagnose ophthalmic conditions and diseases such as glaucoma or cataracts.
- Prescribe eyeglasses or contact lenses based on the results of the examinations.
- Provide patients with information on vision care such as how to clean contact lenses or the importance of wearing sunglasses in bright sunlight.
- Monitor patients' progress and refer them to ophthalmologists when necessary.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Optometry or Ophthalmology from an accredited institution is required.
- Valid license from the local Health Board is essential.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are essential.
