Optometrist Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Optometrist to join our team in Al-Kuwait. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including diagnosing and treating vision problems, prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses, performing eye exams and performing surgery. You will also advise patients on the best solutions to meet their vision needs. This position offers a competitive salary of 1000 KD per month and is open to immigrants.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Optometry
• Licensed Optometrist in Kuwait
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the field
• Proficient in English, Arabic (preferred)
• Knowledgeable of the latest diagnostic technology and treatments available

Responsibilities
• Conduct eye examinations using various diagnostic tools such as automated refractors, retinoscopes, slit lamps, ophthalmoscopes, tonometers etc.
• Diagnose vision problems including nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism and recommend corrective eyeglasses or contact lenses.
• Provide advice about the selection of frames or lenses according to individual needs.
• Monitor changes in vision over time by conducting regular follow-up visits.
• Inform patients about the use of eyeglasses or contact lenses and how to properly care for them.
• Educate patients on proper optical hygiene such as avoiding rubbing eyes too hard or wearing unclean glasses/contacts.
• Perform minor surgical procedures including cornea transplants or cataract removal when required.
