Job Description:
The Phlebotomist will be responsible for drawing blood from patients in a safe and efficient manner. The successful candidate will also provide patient education regarding the procedure and safety measures. This role requires extensive knowledge of laboratory procedures and best practices in order to ensure accuracy and quality of results.
Job Responsibilities:
• Perform venipuncture on patients in order to draw blood samples efficiently and accurately
• Handle specimen collection following established safety protocols
• Label samples properly prior to being sent out for testing
• Maintain appropriate documentation regarding specimen collection processes
• Ensure that all equipment is properly sterilized prior to use on each patient
Qualifications:
• Previous experience as a Phlebotomist is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and best practices
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients
• Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
