The main responsibility of the Excavator Operator is to operate excavator machinery to carry out earthmoving tasks such as digging, ditching and grading. The operator will be responsible for setting up the machine, monitoring gauges, ensuring safety standards and following instructions from supervisors. The operator will also be responsible for inspecting equipment regularly and reporting any issues or damage to supervisors in order to maintain operational efficiency.
