Librarian vacancy in Sharjah UAE

Librarian - Sharjah, UAE (No English Required, Indians Preferred)
We are seeking a Librarian for our library in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing library services to patrons of all ages and backgrounds.

The successful candidate should possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records. They must also be able to communicate effectively with library patrons and staff. Knowledge of computer systems and applications related to library operations is essential.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science or its equivalent, as well as experience working in a library setting. Furthermore, they should have an excellent command of the local language and culture; knowledge of English is not required but preferred. We are particularly interested in candidates with Indian nationality or who are based in India.

The successful applicant will be expected to manage circulation services, provide reference assistance, supervise volunteers and staff, locate information resources for patrons, manage the library’s budget and inventory, oversee interlibrary loan services, promote reading through various programs and activities, provide customer service to patrons from diverse backgrounds, and perform other duties as assigned.
