Job Description:
The Chemical Engineer is responsible for researching, developing, designing, testing, and operating chemical processes used to manufacture products or provide services. The engineer will collaborate with other engineers on projects related to production processes, product design, process control systems, safety systems, environmental impact assessment/mitigation strategies, waste management plans/strategies, equipment selection/specification/procurement/installation/maintenance/troubleshooting/repairing activities. The Chemical Engineer may also be asked to provide technical support on existing processes or new product development initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Researching chemical applications suitable for product development or process improvement;
• Designing chemical processes related to production processes;
• Collaborating with other engineers on projects related to chemical engineering;
• Developing new methods of process control systems;
• Developing safety systems related to chemical processing;
• Assessing environmental impacts of proposed projects;
• Selecting equipment suitable for assigned tasks;
• Providing technical support on existing processes or new development initiatives.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field; • Strong knowledge of chemistry principles and concepts; • Knowledgeable about safety protocols associated with handling hazardous materials; • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
