Responsibilities
• Assist the dentist in performing various procedures such as taking X-rays, filling cavities, performing root canals, extracting teeth, etc.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up equipment
• Prepare patients for treatment by providing instructions on dental hygiene
• Maintain patient records and update medical histories
• Handle laboratory duties such as mixing materials and pouring impressions
• Keep the dental operatory neat and clean at all times

Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Certification from an accredited dental assistant program preferred but not required
• Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is essential
