Job Duties:
• Prepare legal surveys and reports for clients, involving measurements, calculations, and analysis of data.
• Perform research regarding land records, title deeds, and surveys to identify property boundaries.
• Use specialized equipment such as total station and GPS systems to accurately measure distances and angles.
• Analyze aerial photographs in order to detect changes in land features or boundary lines.
• Collaborate with other professionals such as engineers, architects, and contractors when needed.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying or related field preferred but not required; additional certifications may be beneficial (e.g., Professional Land Surveyor).
• At least 5 years’ experience in the surveying field; additional experience with GIS/GPS is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of mathematics, geometry, land surveying principles and technology (e.g., total station).
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret maps accurately; excellent written & verbal communication skills are also essential.
