To be considered for this role, candidates must have at least 2 years of professional experience operating excavators in a commercial setting. They should also possess excellent hand-eye coordination and great problem-solving skills. A valid driver’s license is also required. As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for operating excavation equipment to safely dig trenches or holes on construction sites. You will need to ensure that all excavation work is done according to specifications by measuring depths and widths as well as other safety regulations of the site. You will also need to inspect excavators regularly and report any problems or discrepancies immediately. In addition, you may be asked to assist with other duties onsite such as loading or unloading materials and equipment or helping other operators when needed.
