Library Manager, Al-Kuwait, Kuwait

We are looking for a Library Manager to join our team in Al-Kuwait, Kuwait. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the library and its staff, developing library services, and overseeing the collection development and operation of the library.

The ideal candidate should possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, excellent communication skills in English, and an understanding of library principles and procedures. Experience in library management is preferred. The successful candidate should also be able to work independently and as part of a team, have an eye for detail, and be able to work flexible hours when needed.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Developing library services; including collection development policies; researching new materials; developing procedures; identifying suitable resources; preparing budget proposals; planning programs; organizing special events; providing reference services; training staff on new systems/programs
• Managing all library operations including cataloguing, circulation desk operations, shelving materials and supervising staff
• Ensuring the safety of patrons by monitoring facility activities; enforcing rules and regulations
• Overseeing the maintenance of records related to library usage such as circulation statistics
• Developing promotional materials for reading programs or other activities
• Working with vendors to acquire new materials or supplies
• Preparing reports for senior management on the usage of libraries
• Establishing policies regarding access control (e.g., security systems)
• Maintaining positive relationships with members of the community by attending meetings or responding to inquiries
• Ensuring compliance with copyright laws when acquiring or using materials

We prefer candidates with Indian nationality who have strong English speaking skills, however this is not a strict requirement. This is a full-time position with accommodation provided.
