As a Fitter, your responsibilities include:
• Installing, repairing, maintaining, and inspecting mechanical systems such as pumps, engines, and other machinery.
• Testing equipment for proper operation and safety.
• Troubleshooting breakdowns or malfunctions in mechanical systems or components.
• Fabricating parts or components as needed for repair work.
• Examining parts for wear or other defects using precision measuring instruments. • Maintaining records of maintenance activities in the form of logs or reports.
