Second Mate - Part-Time, El-Fujairah, UAE (Preference for Africans/Egyptians)
We are looking for a part-time Second Mate to join our team in El-Fujairah, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing navigation assistance to the captain and other crew members. This is a great opportunity for an African or Egyptian national who does not require English language proficiency.

The ideal candidate will have a valid certificate of competency in accordance with STCW 2010 regulations and possess a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the same capacity within a merchant navy vessel. They should also possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Providing navigation assistance and support during voyages;
• Assisting with vessel operations such as watchkeeping, mooring/unmooring operations, cargo handling, etc.;
• Monitoring weather conditions and making recommendations on changes in course;
• Preparing navigational charts and keeping track of the vessel’s position;
• Assisting in emergency situations such as medical emergencies or man overboard drills;
• Compiling reports on voyage activities.
• Liaising with other vessels or shore personnel when needed.
