BR&T is looking for a Materials Physics and Processes Engineer based out of New Orleans Louisiana supporting the Space Launch System.Ā Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Entry Associate or Mid-Level Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
Generates specifications test plans and other documents to manage the deployment of materials parts and processesMaintains compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations and promotes standardization across business activitiesEvaluates emerging technologies for potential application to business needsDevelops and qualifies new materials parts and processes to meet requirementsIntegrates new technologies as appropriateAssists test and audit programs of manufacturing and engineering processes to applicable requirementsConducts analysis to determine reasons for failures of materials parts and processesImplements corrective and preventative actions responding to non-conformance conditions and Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA)Designs develops and qualifies computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements
The specific skills associated with these requirements should include the following
Thermal Protection (TP) and Thermal Protection Systems (TPS):
Experience with requirements leading up to and inclusive of spray on and pour applications in addition to substrate clean Water Break Free (WBF) prime verification testing TPS application and verification testingExperience with manufacturing techniques and processes used to apply and verify system materialsExperience preparing and verifying planning documents used to guide and clarify processes used to compile manufacturing floor procedures and presentation of such to respective boards including but not limited to the Specification Control BoardExperience with production scale-up process development verification and validation in the manufacturing environmentExperience with transition of material and process lab qualification data and requirements to efficient and effective manufacturing processesThese skill requirements will be embedded in the Boeing Materials and Process (M&P) Production Support Team and will work side by side with Boeing and NASA M&P Engineers
Contamination Control Engineering:
Experience with Contamination Control and the application in Manned Space Flight VehiclesExperience with Government Industry and Engineering SpecificationsExperience with governing documents and specification in the manufacturing environment
Aerospace Materials Engineering:
Experience with processes and materials used in space flight vehicles such as bonding adhesives films tapes coatings primers etc. used in nominal flight and cryogenic environments
Metallurgy:
Experience with 2000 series aluminum alloys Inconel and titaniumExperience with corrosion in 2000 series aluminum alloys
Ā Fasteners and Application:
Experience with aerospace fasteners standards and applications.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite.Ā The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience5+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceBachelorās degree or higher in Chemical Engineering Materials Science/Engineering Chemistry or other related engineering/science disciplines
Typical Education/Experience:
Entry (Level 1):
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA ABET accreditation is the preferred although not required accreditation standard.
Associate (Level 2):
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA ABET accreditation is the preferred although not required accreditation standard.
Mid-Level (Level 3):
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA ABET accreditation is the preferred although not required accreditation standard.
Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
