What you will do (day in the life):
In this role you will be a Mechanical and Structural Engineer subject matter expert working in an Agile Digital Engineering environment planning and executing development and integration for system enhancements to the GMD Weapon System.
Boeing Intelligence and Analytics is seeking motivated and talented a Senior-Level Mechanical and Structural Engineer in Huntsville Alabama.
Typical job responsibilities of a Mechanical and Structural Engineer may include:
Lead and provide technical quality review of the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid systems and thermal environment to establish the system design. Lead activities to validate and verify mechanical and fluid systems requirements. Lead the assessment of system components' designs. Track performance and documentation of analyses of mechanisms/ordnance components and systems selecting appropriate methods to validate or assess the design.Participate in interface requirement and design development.Participate in Technical and Interface Control Working Groups with the customer and suppliers.Supports Risk and Opportunity processes and working groups.Perform coordination of system-level technical reviews.Perform resolution of cross-functional technical issues.Supports trade studies and whitepaper development.Train and coach less-experienced engineers. Operate in a highly flexible work environment.Work Location: Huntsville AL
This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
Requirements:
Experience with system design in areas of mechanical and fluid system and thermal engineering environments.Experience leading and applying systems engineering processes and principlesExperience/domain knowledge of complex system architecture requirements interface definition verification and validationKnowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical mechanical and systems. The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design production and sustainment.This position requires a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.
This position requires clearing a background check and an enhanced Personal Conflict of Interest (PCI) requirements as a condition for employment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in DOORs Cameo and SysML.Experience with Model Based Systems EngineeringExperience with requirements and verification/validation within Systems EngineeringExperience with or on the GMD program or within the Missile Defense AgencyTypical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD +9 years' related work experience Master +12 years' related work experience). In the USA ABET accreditation is the preferred although not required accreditation standard.

Summary Pay Range:
$115000 - $220000
