Significant experience (5+ years) in designing implementing & supporting highly scalable systems and services in Java Scala and/or other JVM-based languagesAt least 4 years experience with SQL NoSQL or NewSQL technologies (see Additional Requirements below)Self-starter with strong customer and product focusAbility to communicate thoughtfully leveraging problem-solving skills and a learning mindset to build long-term relationships

We are looking for a team member with a strong foundation in computer science theory and industry experience. In this role you will design develop and deliver components of a distributed system that is key to the Apple Pay stack. You will have a proven ability to solve problems interest in continuous learning and digging deep into the domain when necessary.

Job functions include:

1. Cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle
2. Scoping design and implementation of scalable resilient distributed systems
3. Participating in design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization

At Apple base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138900 and $256500 and your base pay will depend on your skills qualifications experience and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
