Technologist, Coffee Research & Development – Products Research
Your Opportunity as the Technologist Coffee Research & Development – Products Research
You will play a critical role on the coffee products research team acting as the voice of the consumer across all coffee brands including Folgers Dunkin and Café Bustelo. With coaching you will design and execute research to translate consumer understanding into technical metrics for prototype development. Expectations for this role will leverage critical thinking skills to define the consumer criteria for innovation and product improvement projects strong written documentation of research results and displaying a strong collaborative and adaptable mindset that is willing to sharpen agility in a fast-paced environment.

Location: Orrville OH Corporate Offices (working hybrid work flexibility following Presence with Purpose expectations estimated from 25-60% onsite presence based on business needs)

In this role you will:
Translate consumer success criteria into technical metrics. Leverage Product Research Team to guide project teams in claim & graphic/label reviews and product release process. Verify that products deliver on success criteria and identify risks and mitigation plans for products that fall short of minimum success criteria. Partner with team lab technician to execute PR scheduler request and prepare coffee samples for screening.Conduct research to understand the needs of the consumer identify minimum consumer-driven success criteria for product design and facilitate consumer-driven product model definition.Assess relevant competitive landscape to learn opportunities for differentiation. Understand effective uses and limitations of internal testing tools and translate those uses to stakeholders.Collaborate and leverage relationships within R&D and cross functional teams to achieve project goals foster a continuous improvement mindset participate in ID&E initiatives. Receive qualification as a Technical Readiness Lead and Cupper within the Coffee Product Development team.

What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Science Technology or EngineeringMinimum Research & Development experience of at least 1 internship co-op work study or research lab experienceEffective presentation verbal and written communication skillsProficient in adhering to proceduresAbility to work under moderate supervision within guidelines and processesStrong critical thinking and scientific method skills Ability to analyze and summarize dataWillingness to taste coffee beverages (Dairy is a plus)Willingness and comfort with intermittent travel expectations up to 25%
