Business Technology(BT) in Workday continues its mission to deliver unparalleled value to our business partners and customers. The Program and Business Operations team works with stakeholders within BT and outside to define align on and implement the strategic programs and operations. The team is also responsible for standardizing program methodologies tools and operations/metrics across the BT organization to provide a unified experience to business stakeholders and customers.
About the Role
The Senior Manager Communications & Change Management will be passionate about communications and will help coordinate both internal and external facing Business Technology communications. In addition you will work across teams to find opportunities for storytelling and recognition. You will also lead a team of change communication specialists with a structured methodology /process. The candidate will be someone who is fast paced a great collaborator and problem solver an excellent communicator and a strong writer. This position plays a significant role on a fast-paced team and the candidate needs to be prepared to skillfully handle ambiguity run multiple programs and prioritize requests.
Responsibilities
Manage a team of communications leads and continue to develop their skills.
Prioritize initiatives and tasks for the team while providing assistance as needed.
Partner closely with key stakeholders to develop proactive and reactive communications to Workmates on meaningful and relevant updates including news-related items. These communications will be distributed in the form of emails Slack slides Intranet updates and conversations.
Develop the voice of the Business Technology organization and work across Workday to improve the understanding and key objectives of the organization.
Create communication plans for key projects and coordinate with communication counterparts across Workday as necessary.
Collaborate and advise other team members on internal communications and how to tell their story.
Work with the Business Technology teams to find opportunities to collaborate more closely with Workmates including ways we can proactively and jointly tell stories.
Create templates implement guidelines and best practices for announcements newsletters and presentations.
Communicate program and process changes to Senior Leadership to ensure buy-in and provide consistency across teams.
Leads change management & communication with a structured methodology / process
Devises core communication topics messages and methods to advance change
Serve as a change champion by inspiring project leaders and stakeholders to be change enthusiasts
Apply structured change methodologies that integrate with project and program management to create strategies that support adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative
Defines success metrics and measures performance against these
About You
Experience
10+ years of communications experience in enterprise software/technology or partner communications.
5+ years of translating technology communications into meaningful stories that can be easily digested.
Previous team management experience is a must
About You
Track record of counseling and presenting to senior executives establishing trusted and positive relationships.
Strong critical thinking writing communications problem solving technical and analytical skills.
Understanding of various communication channels.
Strong organizational skills and a proven capability to manage everything from strategy to details as well as comfortable multitasking and prioritizing different requests.
Internal communications experience is a plus.

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including but not limited to geography experience skills job duties and business need among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $166100 USD - $249100 USD
Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $137000 USD - $249100 USD
